Our initial appointment

Before we meet, I will have you fill out some forms that will give me a good idea of many aspects of your past history and current concerns. If you have records for me to review or a therapist I can speak with, I’d like to do that before our first appointment.

During our first meeting, we will discuss your psychiatric/medical history, daily routines at home/work/school, relationships, and lifestyle. We will discuss if you are working with a therapist and what sorts of issues you are addressing. By the end of that first meeting, we will come up with a plan for moving forward. That may include medications (adding, reducing, changing), therapy, and wellness practices.

Follow up sessions

We will meet regularly to assess how you are doing and what changes you may benefit from. These sessions are typically 25 minutes, but can be 50 minutes if you choose.

The frequency of appointments is usually once every 1-3 months, depending on if we have made changes or how you are responding to treatment. We can discuss this in our first meeting or in an introductory telephone call. (If we happen to be working together in therapy, meetings will be more frequent.)
