Appointments

Initial evaluations are scheduled after a brief telephone conversation. Evaluations for adults take me a total of about 2.5 hours and will involve review of prior records and intake forms, collaboration with your therapist (if possible), getting to know you and your history, and charting. We will spend about 75 minutes together and collaborate on creating an individualized plan for your treatment and wellbeing.

Evaluations on adolescents and youth take me about 3 hours and involve all the components noted above. In addition, I need to speak with the adult(s) and youth separately AND together and spend at least 75 – 90 minutes on that part. Complex issues or needing to speak with two parents separately may take longer and will be billed accordingly. 

Follow-up visits are scheduled at the conclusion of a visit. The timing and frequency of follow-up appointments are determined by clinical need and will be discussed with you at our initial appointment.

Insurance

I do not participate in any insurance plans or Medicare. You may have out-of-network benefits, and if so, I will provide a superbill so that you can attempt to have your carrier reimburse you for a portion of your expenses.

By not being part of a panel, it frees me up to spend more time with you (or your child) so you receive the treatment you deserve. Often this means feeling better, faster.

Fees

Fees are due at the time of the visit and are payable via check, credit card, or cash. Please call Dr. Kovnick with any questions about the fee schedule.

Cancellation Policy

The time we spent together is reserved especially for you. If you are running late, you will be seen for the remaining time in you appointment but the charge will be for the full amount. I will need to end on time in order to be ready for the next person. Please provide at least 48 (business) hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment in order to avoid being charged the full fee.
